23 years later...
Twenty-three years ago today, on September 11, 2001, America was under attack. None of us will ever forget where we were that day as we watched the events unfold on TV, or listened to the news reports on the radio. But, more importantly, we must never forget those who died that day, and the families they left behind.
An entire generation has come since, who were either too young to remember, or were not yet born, and we must use this anniversary as an opportunity to share our experiences and memories of this tragic day with them so they too will never forget. 2,977 lives were lost including more than 700 New Jerseyans.
Hundreds of first responders sacrificed their lives. Thousands more suffered health complications from working at the site in the days, weeks, and months after.
Twenty-three years later, we must never forget.
