24 Years Have Passed, But We Will Never Forget...
Today marks 24 years since the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
For those of us who lived through that day, we can recall exactly where we were that morning – and we should share those stories with our children and the generations that have come since who are too young to remember, or were not yet born.
But we must also remind them that despite the darkness of that day, something powerful followed thereafter – a spirit of unity across our citizenry. Neighbors, strangers, and a nation standing together as one.
Today, as we remember the 2,977 lives lost, including more than 700 New Jerseyans, let us also remember the compassion and resilience that defined us in the days that followed.
