Bordentown Pride And Community Day Set For Sunday

Event will feature a parade, pet fashion contest, family fun area and specials from local eateries

BORDENTOWN CITY, NJ — Bordentown City residents and visitors alike will be celebrating Pride Month with the 2022 Bordentown Pride and Community Day taking place this weekend.

Pride Day events will take place throughout Bordentown City on Sunday, June 12.

The day will kick off at the RiverLine station on Park Street at 12:30PM, where people will gather to step off for a parade throughout the City, which is slated to begin at 1PM after an Opening Program.

Brenna Jobes, who organized Pride Day including all the events scheduled throughout, will kick off the Opening Program by introducing Mayor Jennifer Sciortino, who will be presenting a Proclamation. Senator Troy Singleton, Assemblyman Herb Conaway and Assemblywoman Carol Murphy will also be giving remarks. Jobes will then announce and introduce the parade's Grand Marshall, who will officially start the parade. 

From there, several activities in town are planned, including a Pet Fashion Contest at 2PM sponsored by Sullivan's Bark Bar & Kitty Lounge, which will be taking place at Bordentown Home for Funerals, located at 40 Crosswicks Street. 

From 3PM to 5PM, Leaping Dog Art Studios will be organizing a Kids and Family Fun Area, also at Bordentown Home for Funerals, featuring fun activities including crafts and face painting, as well as live music from Sean Kelly. The Bordentown Regional High School group Student Voices will be on site to collect donations for youth organizations. 

Several local eateries will be featuring specials on Sunday. The HOB, (146 2nd Street) will be hosting a Pride Cookout Party, Tindall Road Brewery (102 Farnsworth Avenue) will be taking $2 off patrons' first beers, Old Town Pub 135 Farnsworth Avenue) will be creating a "Taste the Rainbow" drink special and Smilie's Sweet Spot (216 Farnsworth Avenue) will be giving out free rainbow Italian ice and pup cups.
