Burlington County Summer Restaurant Week is almost here. Check out some participants.

Burlington County Summer Restaurant Week has grown each year since it started in 2019.

The event is to be held Aug. 3-9 this year and is set to feature dozens of Burlington County restaurants, distilleries, wineries, taverns, breweries and food trucks. Businesses are offering discounts, and may create special menus and signature dishes for patrons during the week.

Last year, by the week’s end, nearly 100 county establishments had participated in the event.

Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson helped to launch Burlington County Summer Restaurant Week. She said she wanted the county's diverse food businesses to be celebrated.

The event has evolved into one of the largest and most recognized restaurant weeks in the area, according to a Burlington County press release.

“Burlington County is home to many of the best restaurants in the region and we created our Restaurant Week to showcase them and their importance to our economy and communities,” Hopson said in the release. “Each Restaurant Week we reach new diners and show them they don’t need to travel to Philadelphia, New York or Atlantic City for great food and entertainment.

"They can find it right here at home in Burlington County.”

Some of the participating food and drink establishments include: Zaddy's Roast Sandwiches, Robin's Nest, Cockadoodle Dan's Wings & Steaks, Donkey's Place Mount Holly, The Union House, The Woods Ice Cream Shop, Olga's Diner, Route 130 Diner, Doc's Pub, French Press, Las Lus Vegan Cafe, JB Bakery, Dooney's Pub and Stewart's Drive-In Burlington.

“Burlington County values small businesses, not just because of their economic importance and jobs but also because they are the backbone of our local communities,” Commissioner Deputy Director Allison Eckel said. “Dining locally during Restaurant Week is a way to support our county’s restaurants and their many employees, along with the local downtowns and business districts where they are located.”

During the week, the participating food and drink businesses are to receive visits from state Sen. Troy Singleton, D-Burlington, the Burlington County Commissioners, and members of the Burlington County Bridge Commission, Department of Economic Development and the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Their presence is to help highlight the establishments.

“In every corner of Burlington County there are amazing restaurants, including many smaller, family-run businesses whose owners and employees are our neighbors, friends and family members,” Singleton said in the release.

“Restaurant Week celebrates delicious food but also the impact restaurants have on our local downtowns and communities. It’s a great promotion and we are excited to partner in it once again.”
