County, Sheriff, Singleton Hosting Annual School Supply Drive with Bordentown Drop-Off Sites
“Helping students begin the year with new backpacks and supplies is something our legislative team has done regularly,” said Senator Singleton, who first took office in the New Jersey Legislature in 2011. “By joining forces with the County Commissioners and Sheriff’s Office, we hope to ensure more students have the tools they need to succeed in the upcoming school year.”
Donations are accepted at all Burlington County branch libraries, including the Bordentown Branch located at 18. East Union Street in Bordentown City, the lobbies of Burlington County government buildings and at Senator Singleton’s legislative office at 400 North Church Street, Suite 260, Moorestown.
Bordentown Township's Municipal Building, located at 1 Municipal Drive, also has a donation bin in its lobby to collect items for the drive.
Suggested donations must be new and include: backpacks, calculators, binders, paper, folders, notebooks, composition books, pencils, pencil cases, pens, crayons, markers, highlighters, erasers, binders, small hand sanitizers, lunch boxes, scissors and index cards. Only new items will be accepted.
Last summer, more than 500 backpacks filled with supplies were distributed to Burlington County children.
“We’re hoping to surpass last year’s donations and help even more students start the school year right,” said Burlington County Sheriff James Kostoplis. “By partnering with the Commissioners and Senator Singleton, our office can help make a difference for Burlington County students and families.”
