Friday is Juneteenth!
Juneteenth is a poignant reminder of the collective progress we have made since our nation's original sin of slavery officially ended, and the work that still remains in order to achieve a more equal and just society.
This holiday calls on us to reflect on our history, honor the resilience and contributions of Black Americans, and recommit ourselves to building communities where opportunity and justice are available to all. I was honored to celebrate Juneteenth last weekend at Timbuctoo in Westampton and look forward to joining residents this weekend in Cinnaminson, Willingboro and Moorestown. I hope to see you there, and that together, we can continue the legacy of faith, hope, and perseverance that has carried generations forward in the pursuit of freedom and equality.
