House votes to approve defense bill with protections for joint base

The U.S. House of Representatives voted Thursday to approve a new defense authorization bill that includes language protecting Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and its fleet of KC-10 jets.

The revised National Defense Authorization Act was approved by a 370-58 vote. It marked the third time that the House has passed a version of the annual bill, which sets defense policy and spending for the next year.
