July 1, 2021 was a dark day for me and 27 workers at the Moorestown Township School District. The board voted to terminate an agreement with a union contractor in charge of custodial services, and the new contractor refused to hire the workers. Suddenly and unexpectedly, we lost our jobs, good salaries, our family healthcare benefits and paid vacation, paid sick time and more.
