Mark Your Calendars For Burlington County Restaurant Week 2022

Burlington County Restaurant Week is back!

County commissioners and New Jersey Senator Troy Singleton announced the week-long celebration of local restaurants will kick off on Sunday, Aug. 14 and continue through Saturday, Aug. 20.

The event is a way to showcase local restaurants, offer food lovers a chance to dine for a discount, and gives local business owners added publicity through posters, table cards and other Restaurant Week promotions.

So, which restaurants participating this year? Eateries from Southampton to Burlington are lined up.

There’s Hoophouse Bakery & Cafe in Bordentown, Robin’s Nest Restaurant in Mount Holly, Shokra Soups in Willingboro, Carlucci’s Waterfront in Mount Laurel, La Lus Vegan Cafe in Beverly, The Union House in Burlington and many more, with new ones signing on.

You’ll have a chance to dine on cheesesteaks, too — Donkey’s Place Downtown is part of the fun.

Supporting local restaurants is more important than ever as restaurants have faced many challenges during the past two years, Commissioner Felicia Hopson, who helped create the first Burlington County Restaurant Week in 2019, told the Courier Post.

Restaurant Week allows residents to show their love and appreciation for their favorite dining spots and their employees.

“Hopefully, it gives our restaurants a nice lift in sales or new customers, but the larger goal is to promote and celebrate all the diverse dining options available in Burlington County,” Hopson said. “We want county residents to know they don’t have to travel far to find great food and atmosphere; there are fantastic dining options right here at home and patronizing them helps keep our communities strong and vibrant. We’re extremely proud of this event and how it has grown each year, and we’re hoping for more of the same this year.”

This year, commissioners listened to feedback from restaurant owners about the best dates for the event. They were told August has a traditionally slower period so an event like Restaurant Week would help out.

“However, with our residents’ support, we think we can make it one of the best months of the year for our restaurants,” Deputy Director Tom Pullion shared in a statement.  As a Burlington County foodie, I know I’m really looking forward to it.”

Commissioner Director Dan O’Connell said the goal this year is to make the week-long celebration “bigger and better” and is hoping for a “record turnout” with the challenges restaurants have faced for the past two years.

Senator Singleton is excited to partner with the county commissioners in sponsoring Restaurant Week.

“We know the pandemic was a huge challenge for most restaurants and some still haven’t fully recovered,” he said in a statement. “It is our collective goal to promote the many great dining choices here in Burlington County, to encourage people to dine locally, and to expose residents to new eateries they never tried before.”

Interested restaurants can complete a form with basic information and any specials or discounts that are planned for the week. Restaurants are encouraged to create specials or deals. The form is available online.

Be sure to keep an eye on social media leading up to the event for more restaurants participating. Special offers, fixed meals, featured menu items and discounts will be offered throughout the week.
