Let's Stay In Touch This Summer: My Summer Policy Series
Tell me if this sounds familiar. A candidate for public office asks for your vote in broad general terms about what they support and what they have done or will do. They are however reluctant to get into specifics on those issues for whatever reason. And, some wonder why so many people are disenchanted with our current brand of politics. There you have it in a nutshell. People want candidates to interact with them in the same way we would want anyone else who comes across our path to act: direct...honest...without a lot of gobbledygook!

Take a Break
It’s July 16, just about the midpoint of our unofficial three months of summer, and I have to remind myself and possibly many of you too, that despite the day-to-day obstacles we face, large and small, we need to take a moment to relax.

POLITICKERNJ’s 50 Most Powerful Elected Officials: 2015
24. Troy Singleton
One could make a case that the 7th District assemblyman should actually be higher on this list by virtue of his unique political pedigree (he learned the Statehouse from former Speaker Joe Roberts), his political position in the powerful Carpenters Union, his ability to maintain friendships in both his home of South Jersey and up north, LG buzz out of all corners of the state that won’t die, and the likelihood of his running for the 7th District senate seat now held by Senator Allen.
