RiverLine Public Meeting With NJ Transit On 10/22!
On Tuesday, October 22nd from 6:00-8:00pm, I will be hosting a RiverLine Public Meeting at the Palmyra Community Center (30 W Broad Street, Palmyra, NJ 08065).
Topics will include RiverLine reliability, as well as public and pedestrian safety. The meeting will include a presentation by NJ Transit CEO Kevin Corbett and related executive staff. After the presentation, there will be an opportunity for public comment. Please join us by RSVP’ing here: https://www.troysingleton.com/riverline
This public meeting represents our continued commitment to address issues regarding the River LINE. For the past several summers, I have held the agency accountable for its track record. Most recently, in July, I wrote a letter calling for accountability for the repeated delays and cancellations that negatively impacted the commutes of thousands of residents that rely on the River LINE in their daily lives.
Additionally, after a local teen was tragically killed when crossing the tracks in Palmyra in August, I urged NJ Transit to consider lower speed limits, increase fencing around the tracks, and renew public education efforts about pedestrian safety.
I also worked to improve public safety in the River LINE communities by spearheading and securing funding for a new partnership between the Burlington County Sheriff’s Office and local police departments. This initiative will deter crime with increased patrols and provide assistance with transporting suspects.
