Senator Troy Singleton To Lead Team Of Volunteers At Beverly Summer Lunch Program
MOORESTOWN, NJ – For his July “Serve with Singleton” event, State Senator Troy Singleton will partner with Beverly United Methodist Church to volunteer at its Summer Lunch Program, which provides lunches to area children during summer months when school lunches are not available.
With the help of Beverly United Methodist Church, the Senator and volunteers will set-up, serve lunch, do crafts, and read to children at the Beverly Housing Authority on Friday, July 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
“It is an honor to partner with Pastor Heidi Bak and the Beverly United Methodist Church for our July service event,” said Singleton, who represents Beverly as part of the 7th Legislative District. “Not only are we volunteering our time and being of service to a worthwhile group, but we are doing our part to ensure the children of Beverly are fed nutritious meals.”
Last year, Beverly United Methodist Church served nearly 4,400 lunches to children in their local community through the Summer Lunch Program. In addition, they also administer the Meals of Love Ministry, where guests from nearby communities can enjoy music, prayer, company and a home-cooked meal. Beverly United Methodist Church has a long history of service and recently celebrated a number of milestones including its 215th year in the community.
This is Senator Singleton’s 7th “Serve with Singleton” event since he became a State Senator in January 2018. Previous efforts included: renovation of the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store, a clean-up day at Jacob’s Chapel Ministry Center, painting two Community Options homes, a clean-up day at Strawbridge Lake, a spring cleaning at Providence House, and organizing and sorting items from UIH Family Partner’s clothing drive.
