Singleton, Conaway, Murphy Collecting Items To Support Operation Yellow Ribbon Through Veterans Day

Moorestown, NJ – 7th Legislative District representatives Senator Troy Singleton, Assemblyman Herb Conaway, and Assemblywoman Carol Murphy, are hosting a supply drive in support of Operation Yellow Ribbon now through Veterans Day.

This will mark the second time that the legislators are collecting supplies for Operation Yellow Ribbon, which sends reminders of home to troops who are actively engaged overseas. Donated items can be dropped off at the legislators' offices in Cinnaminson, Delran or Moorestown, which are open Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM.

“Sending care packages is one way to boost the morale of the brave men and women who are serving overseas in our Armed Forces,” said Senator Singleton, who previously served as the Chairman of the Senate Military and Veterans Affairs Committee. “That is why we are partnering with Operation Yellow Ribbon to collect the items they need the most. We are eternally grateful for their service and sacrifice, and this collection is just a simple gesture to show that appreciation.”

“The original Operation Yellow Ribbon refers to the Canadian response to September 11th, in which they helped to divert air traffic from potential targets in the U.S. This program, based in Burlington County, seeks to help in a different way by sending care packages to our troops. As a veteran, I know that these reminders from home are important to our troops and help them remember what they are fighting for while deployed," said Assemblyman Conaway.

“We are so happy to be hosting this supply drive that highlights the importance of collecting and donating necessary items to our military men and women,” said Assemblywoman Murphy. “Operation Yellow Ribbon helps to show appreciation for their dedicated service and is a wonderful way to support our troops. I hope you come out and donate to this great cause to honor our military leading up to Veterans Day!”

Operation Yellow Ribbon has a complete list of needed items on their website, http://www.operationyellowribbon.org/donate-care-package-items/, however, they are especially in need of the following items:
