Singleton Highlights $500K in State Funding Secured for Bordentown Schools
BORDENTOWN, NJ — State Senator Troy Singleton recently visited Bordentown to highlight funding he secured in the Fiscal Year 2026 state budget for the Bordentown Regional School District.
Singleton obtained $500,000 in the budget for the BRSD in order to fund programs and materials that were on the table to be eliminated due a significant reduction in state aid, resulting in school budget cuts. Singleton presented a ceremonial check to Interim District Superintendent Dr. Edward Forsthoffer on July 11 at Clara Barton Elementary School in Bordentown City.
“The Bordentown Regional School District faced some tough decisions the past few years due to the school funding formula, and we knew the students, teachers, and administrators needed more state support,” said Singleton. “That is why we successfully secured $500,000 in the FY26 budget for the district — money that can be used to restore middle school sports, provide essential textbooks, and fund the annual (7th grade) environmental trip!”
“Thank you to Bordentown Superintendent Dr. Forsthoffer for your advocacy, Bordentown City Mayor Jen Sciortino for initiating this request, Bordentown Township Mayor Eric Holliday for your support, and all the parents who reached out on behalf of these students.”
