Singleton Highlights $725K In Funding For Florence Township

FLORENCE –Senator Troy Singleton highlighted $725,000 in funding that he supported for Florence Township that will be used for improvements to local roadways and for the construction of a new recreation center.

“This community indicated that one of their top priorities was securing funding for their new recreation center, which will be undoubtedly beneficial to the youth. That is why I was proud to sponsor a resolution in this year’s budget providing Florence with $500,000 towards this project,” said Senator Singleton. “I was also happy to support their application with the NJDOT for $225,000 for improvements to Peace Street, Railroad, and Amboy Avenue.”

The Senator sponsored a $500,000 resolution in the FY24 budget that will be used to convert the old Public Works garage on Summer Street into a community recreational center. This rec center will be used by various township recreation sports teams.

Additionally, the Senator strongly supported Florence’s application for a $225,000 grant from the New Jersey Department of Transportation. This funding will be used to repave Peace Street, Railroad, and Amboy Avenue, as well as repair sidewalks improving accessibility, safety, and walkability in this part of the community.
