Assemblyman Troy Singleton (D-Burlington):
"Democrats are focused on job creation here in New Jersey because that's the number one priority issue. New Jerseyans need to have a responsive Legislature that is putting forth programs and ideas to get our citizens back working.

"We need to be innovators when it comes to job creation in our state. The 'Back to Work New Jersey' program allows individuals to become trainees and get a step up in securing employment. The sort of red herring about the cost; I don't think the $3 million price tag, which, in essence is actually less than that -- closer to probably to $2.5 million -- I think is a small price to pay to reduce our unemployment rate, which is right now still hovering at above nine percent.

"In order for us to grow our economy as well as to move this gap -- this income equity gap -- and close that, we need to get folks back in meaningful jobs and get them working again. Programs like 'Back to Work New Jersey' as well as other innovative tax credits are ways to do that, and I'm proud to be supportive of the Democratic Party that does it."
