Bordentown Township on Tuesday celebrated the grand opening of its highly-anticipated new splash pad at Joseph Lawrence Park with a ceremony attended by Senator Troy Singleton, Bordentown Township Mayor Aneka Miller, Deputy Mayor Eugene Fuzy, Committeeman Bill Grayson, Committeewoman Kelly Lozio, along with residents and families. 

Township officials announced plans for the park in July 2025 with help from $200,000 in state aid secured for the project by Singleton, Assemblywoman Carol Murphy and Assemblyman Balvir Singh. The project promised to be a safe and inclusive recreational space for kids and families to enjoy. 

“Seeing the splash pad come to life is exactly why investments like this matter,” said Singleton. “It's a place where families can gather, kids can be kids and our community can grow closer together. Congratulations to Bordentown Township on this wonderful new addition. I look forward to seeing families and children enjoy it for many summers to come.” 

The splash pad is located within Joseph Lawrence Park, located at 316 Ward Avenue. A previously-installed independent well that irrigates the sports fields will supply water for the splash pad, which will ensure that the water connection will not affect water pressure or availability for residents supplied by the Bordentown City Water Department. A playground area planned for the splash pad will be completed within the month, says Township officials. 

“This splash pad has been a labor of love, and today we finally get to see it in action,” said Miller. “It's a simple thing, really, just water and laughter, but it means so much to our families. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this project across the finish line.” 

The splash pad is now open daily to the public from 10AM to 7PM.
