Updated Election Results: NJ Senate And Assembly Races 2017

Polls across New Jersey officially closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday, sealing the fate of dozens of candidates seeking to fill seats in all of the state's Senate and Assembly districts.

Only a handful of districts had uncontested races, with only one major party represented on the election ballot, but the rest of the state's 40 districts had multiple candidates seeking office. Democrats were hoping to expand their control of both houses of the state Legislature, while Republicans were trying to win back seats they've lost in recent years.

Here are the unofficial results of all the contested Senate and Assembly elections held across the state on Tuesday, compiled by the Associated Press.
