Willingboro Jazz Festival Weekend starts Friday

The 33rd Annual Willingboro Jazz Festival weekend will kick off on Friday night with bowling and continue on Saturday with music and food trucks. On Sunday, the main event will include more than nine hours of festival fun that will culminate with what is promised to be a spectacular fireworks show.

Start the weekend Friday night with a Super Bowl Party from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Burlington Bowling & Recreation Center, 4486 Route 130 N, Burlington Township. The evening will include a bowling competition for teams of 5, with trophies for the top scorers and teams. Cost is $100 per team and includes bowling, shoes, food and DJ.

On Saturday, the Midsummer Jazz Jam will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. at Christy Park in front of the Kennedy Center at 429 Kennedy Way. Performances will include Fresh Fire and Tru Vibe, featuring DJ DOITALL. Food trucks and vendors will be on site. Jazz lovers may bring their lawn chairs or a blanket, to relax on the grass listening to the smooth sounds of summer jazz. Admission is free.

The main event takes off on Sunday at noon at Millcreek park. The crowds will be entertained by live music, fed by assorted food vendors and excited by a fireworks finale that will top off the night. Millcreek park is on Beverly Rancocas Road.

Sunday's headliners include the MSB Band, Rheminis, PACE- Creative Arts High School, Will Power, Mike Zombie, DJ Alamo, The Baylor Project, Cintron, Gerald Veasley and Meli'sa Morgan. Heavy Hitter DJ Kam will emcee the day.

There is a $15 charge for car parking at the park on Saturday, but admission to the festival is free. A VIP package is available through Friday. For $50, the VIP Experience includes premier parking, tent seating, a food voucher for one meal, a swag bag, VIP restroom facilities and water cooler access. Tickets must be accessed by noon on Friday at eventbrite.com

Bowling on Friday night is being sponsored by Councilman Darvis Holley, and the fireworks display is being sponsored by Assemblyman Troy Singleton.
