BURLINGTON – On Monday, June 28 from 3 PM to 7 PM, Deborah Specialty Physicians is holding a walk-in COVID vaccination clinic at its Sunset Road location in Burlington. Anyone who receives a shot that day will get a free dinner from Mary’s Mobile Diner, which will be on site.
Bills To Update Domestic Violence Laws, Procedures Pass Judiciary Committee
TRENTON – In an effort to update and reform the state’s domestic violence laws, procedures and policies, the Senate Judiciary Committee released an expansive package of bills sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, and Senator Troy Singleton. In addition to bringing more uniformity to existing procedures, the bills would also require new domestic violence training regimens to be followed by law enforcement, some county prosecutors as well as certain judges and judicial personnel.

Trenton - Legislation sponsored by Senator M. Teresa Ruiz and Senator Troy Singleton, which would create the New Jersey Community Learning Program to support the provision of comprehensive extended learning time programs in areas most impacted by the criminalization of cannabis, cleared the Senate today. The programs would be funded by revenue collected from the sale of recreational cannabis.

It honors the day when on June 19, 1865, Union soldiers brought news of the Emancipation Proclamation to enslaved people in Galveston, Texas declaring all people held in slavery in the U.S. must be freed.
