An Assembly panel on Monday approved legislation sponsored by Assembly Democrats Troy Singleton, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Pamela Lampitt, Gary Schaer and Benjie Wimberly to develop a "Responsible Fatherhood Initiative" in New Jersey geared towards strengthening the development of children throughout the state by promoting the positive involvement of both parents in the lives of their children.

Helping to keep jobs in New Jersey
In May, rental car giant Hertz announced it was moving its corporate headquarters, as well as 550 jobs, from Park Ridge, N.J., to the Gulf Coast of Florida. The company cited several reasons for its relocation, chief among them the $85 million in tax incentives that Florida is offering.
