Singleton, Gopal, Ruiz Bills To Combat Human Trafficking Advance
Trenton – In an effort to further combat human trafficking in New Jersey, the Senate Judiciary Committee today advanced a pair of bills sponsored by Senator Troy Singleton, Senator Vin Gopal, and Senate Majority Leader M. Teresa Ruiz which would hold all those who benefit from human trafficking accountable, and increase research to prevent the disproportionate trafficking of women and children of color.
Singleton Bill to Expand Pathways to Teaching Advances
Trenton – In an effort to broaden the educator workforce, the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee approved legislation sponsored by Senator Troy Singleton which would create a pathway to teaching for veterans in the state.
Singleton Bill to Increase Worker Representation Advances
Trenton – In an effort to expand worker representation and further enforce employment contracts, the Senate Labor Committee today advanced legislation sponsored by Senator Troy Singleton to permit unions to file wage claim suits on behalf of workers, regardless of their union affiliation.
Singleton Bill to Ease Financial Burden on Affordable Housing Projects Advances
Trenton – In a move to increase the supply of affordable housing, the Senate Community and Urban Affairs Committee today advanced legislation sponsored by Senator Troy Singleton which would appropriate $60 million to the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) to support affordable housing projects.

Every year since 1976, we have officially celebrated Black History Month, which remains a fitting celebration that extols the sacrifice, effort and accomplishments of African Americans in the United States.
I should note that while other groups have made significant contributions, only African Americans had to overcome slavery and the institutional racism and prejudice that followed it.

Trenton – In an effort to increase transparency between online service operators and consumers, the Senate today advanced legislation sponsored by Senator Troy Singleton and Senator Richard Codey which would require commercial internet website and online service operators to notify consumers of the collection and disclosure of personally identifiable information to third parties.
