Singleton to Host Volunteer Event at Local Farm to Help Food Insecure Families
FLORENCE, NJ — Senator Troy Singleton is partnering with Farmers Against Hunger for his latest "Serve With Senator Singleton" community service project, and he is looking for volunteers to help.
Singleton is looking for 20 volunteers to help with his event at Clover Valley Farm, located at 1091 Florence Columbus Road in Florence, on Saturday, October 9 from 10AM to 12PM. Volunteers will help pick peppers from the farm, which will then be donated to local food pantries that serve food-insecure families.
Farmers Against Hunger works to reduce food waste by helping farmers and wholesalers throughout New Jersey share their surplus produce with those in need. This helps to reduce food insecurity by ensuring access to fresh and health produce for every family in New Jersey.
Singleton's community service event is a great opportunity for high school students to gain community service hours.
