While Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial start of summer, please find a moment over the next few days to remember the selfless sacrifice and bravery exhibited by so many in service to our nation. For generations, American men and women have lost their lives on foreign and domestic battlefields to preserve the rights and freedoms that we enjoy today. While their ultimate sacrifice is never forgotten, Memorial Day weekend allows us the opportunity to honor their memory. I will do just that at ceremonies tonight and over the weekend, and I hope you will reflect on the true meaning of this day, too.
