Campaign For A New Jersey Legislative Youth Council: Dougherty Establishes NJ’s First Legislative Youth Council
TRENTON – Governor Murphy signed legislation (A-4987/S-3164) that establishes a forum for New Jersey’s youth to advise the Legislature and all of its committees, commissions, and task forces on their needs, opinions, and welfare for all youth in New Jersey. The Council would identify and implement effective policies, programs, and services that the State could provide its youth.
NJ Legislature Passes Critical Bill To Help Survivors Of Human Trafficking
TRENTON: It is a particularly poignant time of year for the NJ Senate to vote to pass a vital bill that survivors of human trafficking have been waiting for – the eve of Human Trafficking Awareness Day. The bill A5322 which just passed unanimously will allow survivors to vacate criminal convictions that resulted from the abuse and exploitation of their traffickers. Awareness Day is a highlight of January’s Human Trafficking Prevention Month and will now also mark the efforts of legislators, survivors, and advocates to pass legislation to make it possible for survivors to build lives after their ordeal of trafficking.

Trenton – The Senate today passed two bills sponsored by Senators Troy Singleton and M. Teresa Ruiz. The bills would modify standards for loans to sponsors for housing projects during a state of emergency and establish the “NJ Foreclosure Counseling Fund.”
