Sarlo-Singleton Bill to Reduce Required Parking Spaces Would Spur Transit-Oriented Residential Development
Trenton – A bill authored by Senator Paul Sarlo and Senator Troy Singleton would spur transit-oriented residential development by reducing the number of required parking spaces for new projects that are near public transportation services. The legislation, S-3605, was approved by the Senate today with a vote of 22-13.

Two-Bill Package to Bolster Home Health Care Services Released From Health Committee
Trenton – The Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee released legislation sponsored by Senator Joe Vitale and Senator Troy Singleton that would help ease the regulatory and financial burdens on eligible residents who prefer to receive health care services and treatment in their own homes or community, as opposed to a hospital, or institutional setting.
Governor Murphy Signs Health Care Heroes Violence Prevention Act
TRENTON – In response to increased attacks on health care workers in recent years, Governor Phil Murphy today signed the ‘Health Care Heroes Violence Prevention Act’ to make it a criminal offense to intentionally threaten health care professionals or volunteers in an effort to intimidate them or interfere with their work. The act also establishes additional penalties against individuals who assault health care workers or volunteers.

Trenton – In an effort to bolster workforce development programs around the state, the Senate Labor Committee advanced legislation sponsored by Senator Jim Beach and Senator Troy Singleton which would permit businesses to partner with non-profit and educational institutions to create pre-employment training programs.

Trenton – In an effort to further assist storm-impacted homeowners, the Senate Community and Urban Affairs Committee today advanced legislation sponsored by Senators Troy Singleton and Andrew Zwicker, which would establish temporary foreclosure protections and mortgage relief for homeowners impacted by the remnants of Hurricane Ida.

NJBPU Commits $180 Million to Schools and Women or Minority-Owned Businesses with Energy Efficiency and Water Conservation Grants
TRENTON, NJ—April 18, 2023—The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities today announced it has fully committed the $180 million budgeted for the School and Small Business Energy Efficiency Stimulus Program (SSBP), aimed at helping schools and small businesses reduce their water and energy consumption and improve indoor air quality for children and small businesses. The program is closed and no longer accepting applications.
